Norwegian Flavors from FjordBites
Geirangerfjord large box
Geirangerfjorden is a fjord in Sunnmøre in Møre og Romsdal. It is 15 kilometers long and forms an arm of the Storfjorden. The village of Geiranger is located at the innermost part of the fjord. Geirangerfjorden is 600 to 1,500 meters wide.
Along the fjord, one can find Skageflå, Blomberg, and Knivsflå, which are high-lying, abandoned, photogenic farms accessible via trail and boat. The fjord is one of Norway's most visited tourist destinations. On July 14, 2005, the Geirangerfjord area, along with the Nærøyfjord area, was inscribed as a Western Norwegian Fjord Landscape on UNESCO's list of World Cultural and Natural Heritage Sites.
